Quarantine Journal Entry #2

Yes, I realize I only wrote my journal entry not even a week ago — but have not followed any of the guidelines I outlined for myself on it. So… I’ve slightly tweaked it.

April short-term goals:

  • Food: fast from 8pm to noon of the next day, and then eat from 12pm-8pm. This is so hard! I haven’t done it yet — not even once! I think I’m just going to buy breakfast and NOT eat it till noon, because breakfast + coffee is my fave part of the day and it’s just so hard for me to give it up… Will have to be better at tracking my progress on Zero.
  • Water: this should honestly be the easiest goal to achieve but it’s been a struggle as well so I need to set a timeline for myself for the 6 full cups of water I will be drinking out of my IKEA beer mug. 9am (1st cup), 12pm (2nd cup), 2pm (3rd cup), 4pm (4th cup), 6pm (5th cup), 8pm (6th cup).
  • Exercise: not applicable
  • Mindfulness: (1) will meditate 10 minutes every MORNING after my morning calls, (2) just in general maintain gud vibezzzzz (i.e. stop having “no…” / “well…” as my initial reactions to everything)

Passion projects:

  • Reading: Will finish reading Shoe Dog and Sapiens in April. Going to target around 50 pages every day. I just started reading BoF so I decided that I’m going to have to allocate time to read that instead of books.
  • Photography: since I can’t take food pics anymore, I want to finish setting up my room and finish taking my room / clothes pics (to be used these journal entries!). Three platforms I should be focusing on: (1) VSCO (all my pictures), (2) IG (curated), and (3) Medium.

I’ve decided to scrap writing since I simply don’t have the time! And also because I’ve finally landed on a career goal that I think I should be focusing all my time and effort on.

Long term goals on my mind rn:

Still the same as my previous post, but I think I have made significant headway with my career goals… I will need to do a lot of due diligence and read up a LOT more. Think I might formulate a tracker of some sort on Excel to keep track of my learning.

So my list of to-dos for these few weeks:

  1. Career: READ, READ READ (and digest)
  2. Intermittent fast and track on the app Zero
  3. Drink 6 IKEA beer mug cups of water
  4. Take Bacopa Synapsa every day
  5. Meditate for 10 minutes every morning and keep good energy
  6. Read 50 pages every day
  7. Wrap up my room / clothing photography

Okay, I will touch base within the next two weeks to see how my current goals are progressing. I feel like this month is vital for my growth just because I have so much personal time now, but I don’t think I’ve been advancing as much as I would like! I guess that’s pretty much everyone’s sentiment though…
